Aaron Sterritt Woodwork

In 2010 Aaron Sterritt graduated with a Degree in Furniture Crafts from the University of Cumbria. He has recently moved back to strathspey and has spent the last year creating a woodworking workshop near his home town Kingussie.

Aaron uses responsibly sourced scottish hardwoods such as Elm and Ash to create beautifully unique pieces of furniture as well as more sculptural pieces of work. Through experimentation Aaron has discovered many interesting techniques to create contemporary work that is rich with colour and texture.

“I strive to create work that reveals wood as a material of great potential variety and beauty. To understand its qualities and characteristics directly, by focussing on the working process. Inspiration is taken from the various ways in which it cracks and splits and how each type of wood has its own unique grain and when shaped reveals it’s self differently”

Aaron welcomes commission based work of any size.
