Highland counterpane, pastels

Born in Bowmore, Island of Islay in ‘72. Ann grew up on Rothiemurchus Estate, highlands. Studied at Grays School of Art, Aberdeen.

Ann is a contemporary artist who works from her studio at the High Range in Aviemore.

Inspired and influenced  by the landscapes and peoples of  Scotland. Recently returned to working in pastel. Although also works in acrylic, watercolour, charcoal and pen and ink. Also keen children’s book illustrator.

Ann has had three solo exhibitions at the Iona Gallery , Kingussie where she has also exhibited with the Badenoch and Strathspey Artists society since its onset. Her work also toured the Scottish Galleries in 2000 with the Highlands and Islands Open in the category of young artists and new graduates.

Work also hangs in the new Scottish Parliament commemorating the opening of the Cairngorm National Park. Work also hangs in the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Work can be viewed at the Laurel Gallery, Stockbridge Edinburgh.
Work is also in permanent exhibition at in the family restaurant La Taverna Ristorante, Aviemore. And seasonally at the Loch an Eilein Gallery, Rothiemurchus Estate.
