Photography
Scotland has made a rich contribution to the art of photography. In the mid 19th century David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson captured the public’s imagination with their cityscapes, landscapes and portraits of the fisher folk working around the Firth of Forth.
The duo’s work continues to inspire to this day with Scottish photographers using their inventiveness and artistry to push the boundaries of film and digital photography – as the work of Calum Colvin, Thomas Joshua Cooper and Wendy McMurdo (among many others) illustrates.
Photographers working in and around the Cairngoms National Park are no less inspired when creating their images of a richly-textured, multi-coloured landscape. Check out our members’ work below.
