Katie makes a range of silk felted scarves and tweed bags in contemporary styles. She discovered felting a couple of years ago and enjoyed playing with the colours and materials. She now concentrates on nuno felting (felting on to open fabric such as silk) – and loves the crinkled textures of the felted silk and also the fact that each creation is different.

Moving to a new home in the Highlands of Scotland in 2009 gave Katie more space and time to devote to craftwork. She has begun collecting natural dye materials in the beautiful countryside around the village of Newtonmore – for example lichen and elderberries. She enjoys experimenting with these to dye silk and produce lovely, subtle colours.
Katie’s range of tweed accessories includes bags, corsages and camera/phone pouches. She uses Harris tweed and mixes this amazing fabric with felted wool, velvet and recycled tweeds.
