Peter Fordyce

PDF Woodturning
Location: Forfar

Very large burr-elm bowl

Some seven years ago Peter taught himself woodturning from books and videos. He enjoyed it so much he now attends craft fairs and agricultural shows regularly. Peter really enjoys meeting people and fellow crafters at these shows. Travelling to Aberdeenshire and further afield, he also takes part in shows there.

Peter used mainly locally-sourced woods such as Beech, Oak, Birch, Elm, Laburnum and the beautiful Yew as well as the rustic Burr Elm. Wherever possible he uses sustainable timber.

Peter makes everything from bowls to mushrooms, wooden apples and pears, but specialises in clocks.

Peter’s work can be seen at Crafts of Angus Shop, at the House of Dun, Montrose and at Edzell Post Office.

He is a member of the Taywood Woodturning Club in Monifieth.

Turning demonstrations can be arranged for schools and groups such as the Ladies’ Circle.
