Designscottish designers using textile, wood, clay and stones

Through the ages, the best of designers have used invention, energy and imagination to great effect – producing objects that not only look good, but are useful too.

Whether it’s Charles Rennie Macintosh’s unique take on Art Nouveau in the early 20th century helping to modernise furniture, architecture and interior design; or Donna Wilson’s quirky, dream-like, ‘cuddly’ toys and home accessories capturing the public’s imagination and winning her plaudits as well as sales; or David Brewster’s invention of the kaleidoscope – Scotland’s designers are many faceted.

The designers working in and around the Cairngorms National Park are no exception. Visit our members’ links to see how they are taking greetings cards, glass engraving, jewellery and much more in exciting new directions.
